1. Service Description
ParentSEE is a DNS-level network monitoring service designed for parents and legal guardians. It allows you to see which websites and apps your children's devices connect to, receive alerts about concerning content, and access AI-powered insights about your children's online activity patterns.
ParentSEE is an awareness tool, not a content blocker or filter. It does not prevent access to any website or app. It monitors DNS queries only and does not intercept, read, or decrypt any traffic content.
Certain features may be designated as “beta” or “experimental.” Beta features are provided on an as-is basis without warranty, may change or be discontinued at any time without notice, and may not be as reliable as our generally available features.
2. Account Terms
- You must be at least 18 years old to create a ParentSEE account.
- You must be the parent or legal guardian of the children whose devices you monitor. By creating an account and adding a child, you represent and warrant that you have the legal authority to consent to the collection and use of that child's data.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials, API keys, and any mobile devices with the ParentSEE app installed.
- You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account and keep it up to date.
- One account per family. If you need to share access with a co-parent or guardian, use the Family Sharing feature to invite them rather than sharing your credentials.
3. Subscription and Billing
- ParentSEE offers a 14-day free trial. A credit or debit card is required at sign-up for identity verification and to satisfy COPPA's verifiable parental consent requirement. No charges are made during the trial period.
- All billing and payments are processed externally through our website via Stripe. In-app purchases are not available.
- After the trial, your subscription automatically renews at the plan rate you selected (monthly or annual) unless you cancel before the renewal date.
- You can cancel your subscription at any time from Settings or through the Stripe billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- No partial refunds are provided. If you cancel mid-period, you retain access until the end of the current billing period.
- We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice via email. Price changes do not apply to active billing periods.
- If a payment fails, we will attempt to collect payment for up to 7 days. If payment cannot be collected, your account may be suspended until the balance is resolved.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use ParentSEE to monitor anyone who is not your minor child or legal dependent, including spouses, partners, employees, roommates, or other adults.
- Attempt to circumvent, reverse-engineer, decompile, or exploit the service or its infrastructure.
- Use the service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable local, state, national, or international law.
- Share your account credentials, API keys, or device tokens with unauthorized third parties.
- Abuse or overload the API or service infrastructure through automated or programmatic means beyond normal use.
5. Privacy and Data
Your use of ParentSEE is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights over it.
- ParentSEE complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
- Traffic data is automatically deleted after 90 days.
- You can export or delete your data at any time from Settings.
- We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
6. Intellectual Property
ParentSEE and its associated branding, software, documentation, and content are owned by ParentSEE LLC and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You retain full ownership of your data. We do not claim any rights to the monitoring data generated by your account. You grant us a limited, revocable license to process your data solely for the purpose of providing, maintaining, and improving the service.
7. Disclaimers
- ParentSEE is not a substitute for active parenting. It is a tool to help you stay informed, not a replacement for open communication with your children.
- ParentSEE does not provide professional advice of any kind, including medical, psychological, legal, or educational advice.
- We do not guarantee that all concerning content will be detected. DNS-level monitoring has inherent limitations — it sees domain names, not page content or in-app activity.
- Some apps and services may bypass DNS monitoring through encrypted DNS, VPNs, or direct IP connections. ParentSEE cannot monitor traffic that does not pass through DNS resolution.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. PARENTSEE DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR COMPLETELY SECURE.
8. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, PARENTSEE AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.
OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU PAID TO PARENTSEE IN THE 12 MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.
9. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless ParentSEE LLC, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your unauthorized monitoring of individuals who are not your minor children or legal dependents, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any applicable law.
10. Suspension and Termination
- You may delete your account at any time from Settings. Account deletion permanently removes all your data as described in our Privacy Policy.
- We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in abusive behavior, or if continued access poses a legal risk to ParentSEE or its users. We will provide notice where practical.
- Upon termination, your access to the service ceases immediately. Data is deleted per our Privacy Policy.
- Consent records are retained indefinitely for legal and audit compliance, even after account deletion.
11. Dispute Resolution and Class Action Waiver
Any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. The arbitrator's decision shall be final and binding.
YOU AGREE THAT ANY DISPUTE RESOLUTION PROCEEDINGS WILL BE CONDUCTED ONLY ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS AND NOT IN A CLASS, CONSOLIDATED, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION. YOU EXPRESSLY WAIVE YOUR RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT OR CLASS-WIDE ARBITRATION.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to prevent the actual or threatened infringement, misappropriation, or violation of intellectual property rights.
12. Copyright Policy (DMCA)
ParentSEE respects the intellectual property rights of others. We will respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with applicable law, including the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).
We reserve the right to disable access to or terminate the accounts of repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances.
If you believe that your copyrighted work has been copied in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, please send a DMCA notice to support@parentsee.com with the following information: (1) a description of the copyrighted work, (2) a description of where the infringing material is located, (3) your contact information, (4) a statement of good faith belief that the use is not authorized, and (5) a statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate and you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on behalf of the owner.
13. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. We will also update the version number and effective date at the top of this page.
Your continued use of ParentSEE after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the new Terms, you may delete your account before the effective date.
14. Governing Law and General Provisions
