How to Set Up the ParentSEE Safari Extension on iPhone or iPad
The ParentSEE Web Monitor lets you see the websites your child visits in Safari on an iPhone or iPad, in a privacy-respecting way. You install a small app from the App Store, turn on its Safari extension, and enter a pairing code. That's it.
What ParentSEE sees on Safari (please read)
The extension reports the websites your child visits in Safari, by name: for example youtube.com or roblox.com, along with the category of each site, when it was visited, and which device it came from. It works only in Safari, and only while the extension is enabled.
It does not see:
We see the site names and categories. Never the contents. This matches what the App Store listing describes.
What you'll need
Step 1: Get your pairing code
In the ParentSEE app, choose Safari monitoring, pick the existing child this device is for (don't add a new child, as that would split their history), give the device a name, and ParentSEE shows a 6-character pairing code. (Generate a new one anytime if it lapses.)
Step 2: Install ParentSEE Web Monitor
On the child's device, install ParentSEE Web Monitor from the App Store. It's a free app that carries the Safari extension. (It is a separate app from the main ParentSEE parent app.) If you search the App Store instead of tapping a direct link, type "ParentSEE Web Monitor" exactly, as that is the app's name in the store.
Step 3: Turn on the extension in Settings
Open Settings → Apps → Safari → Extensions → ParentSEE Web Monitor, then turn on Allow Extension. (iOS may ask you to confirm, so allow it.)
Step 4: Turn it on in Safari
Open Safari, tap the extensions button (the puzzle-piece icon), and turn on ParentSEE Web Monitor.
Step 5: Allow it on every website
Right after you turn it on, Safari asks twice. Tap Allow, then choose Always Allow on Every Website. Don't pick Allow for One Day, as monitoring would stop the next day. (These prompts come from Safari itself, not from Settings, so they only appear once the extension is turned on in Step 4.)
Step 6: Enter the pairing code
Tap the ParentSEE icon in Safari, enter the 6-character pairing code from Step 1, and tap Pair Device. The popup shows "Connected to ParentSEE" when pairing succeeds.
Step 7: Confirm it's working
Browse to a website in Safari on the child's device. The site should appear in your ParentSEE Activity feed shortly after. It's normal not to see it the instant you pair, so give it a moment, and try a couple of sites. If the popup ever shows amber "Paired, but not monitoring," the site permission isn't set to Always Allow. Go to Settings → Apps → Safari → Extensions → ParentSEE Web Monitor → Permissions → Other Websites and choose Always Allow on Every Website, then revisit a page.
What your child sees
The ParentSEE Web Monitor app is visible on the device, and the extension is listed in Settings and in Safari's extensions menu. Browsing works exactly as before. ParentSEE watches, it never blocks or slows anything. We think monitoring a child's device should never be a secret from the child.
Troubleshooting
Removing ParentSEE
To stop monitoring, see How to Remove the ParentSEE Safari Extension. Monitoring stops as soon as the extension is turned off or the app is removed.
ParentSEE shows you the website names this device visits in Safari. It never shows the contents of messages, searches, or what's on the screen.
