You can permanently delete your ParentSEE account and all of your family's data at any time, directly from the app or the web dashboard. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. This page explains exactly how to do it, what is removed, and the one anonymized record we are legally required to keep.
1. How to delete your account
Deletion is self-serve — you do not need to contact us. Use whichever is easier:
In the mobile app
- Open Settings → Data & Privacy.
- Tap Delete my account and confirm.
On the web
- Sign in at parentsee.com and open Settings.
- In the Delete Account section, choose Delete my account.
- Type DELETE to confirm.
Either path immediately and permanently deletes your account and all associated data, and sends a confirmation email to your account address.
Can't sign in? If you no longer have access to your account, email support@parentsee.com from the email address on your account and we will delete it for you.
2. Cancel your subscription first
Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active subscription — subscriptions are managed by the app store or payment processor you signed up through. To avoid further charges, cancel your subscription before deleting your account:
- Google Play — Play Store → Subscriptions → ParentSEE → Cancel.
- Apple App Store — Settings → your name → Subscriptions → ParentSEE → Cancel.
- Web / card — cancel from Settings before deleting, or email support@parentsee.com.
3. What gets deleted
Everything below is permanently removed from our database in a single operation:
- Your account and sign-in — your parent profile, password, and any linked Google or Apple sign-in.
- Your children's profiles — every child you added, including their names, ages, and settings.
- All monitoring data — DNS/website history, app-usage and screen-time records, detected apps, and activity trends.
- All alerts and insights — safety alerts, alert-email history, and AI-generated observations.
- Devices — device enrollments, pairing codes, and connection records.
- Push notification tokens — the identifiers used to deliver notifications to your phone.
- Settings and preferences — alert thresholds and your noise/allow lists.
- Support and feedback — support tickets and any feedback you submitted.
- Family members — any co-parents you invited.
- Product analytics — usage events associated with your account.
We do not keep your children's activity data for operational use after an account is deleted.
4. What we retain, and why
We keep exactly one thing, and it contains no direct identifiers:
- An anonymized consent audit record — because ParentSEE monitors children, U.S. children's privacy law (COPPA) requires us to be able to demonstrate that a verified parent consented. On deletion we replace your consent record with a stripped, one-way-hashed audit entry (a timestamp, the consent method, and a payment-processor reference). It contains no names, email addresses, or child data, is stored separately from our operational database, and is automatically deleted after six years (the applicable legal statute of limitations).
- Payment records held by our payment processors — billing and transaction records held by Stripe, Google Play, or the Apple App Store may be retained by those providers as required by tax and financial law. These are outside our database and governed by each provider's own retention policy.
5. Deleting one child's data only
If you want to remove a single child's data without closing your account, you can delete that child's monitoring data (all traffic entries, alerts, and insights) from Settings while keeping the rest of your account intact.
6. Questions
